This hotel is a gem... from the welcoming staff to the lovely rooms, breakfast, tea (and the candy jar!), the atmosphere is wonderful. The location is fantastic and central to many restaurants, bars, boutiques, and parks, with major museums and attractions closely accessible by Metro (or the wonderful staff will call you a taxi). For those who appreciate special touches, this is the hotel for you.

Everything was absolutely wonderful except for the taxi to and from the airport. Upon arrival the driver was to meet us with our name on display. He was not there. We walked back and forth through the arrival area twice looking for our name. We needed to go to the information desk, call the company, and then the driver came to find us at the information desk. As he walked toward us he was unfolding the sign with our name on it. Clearly he had not been waiting in the arrival area. Not that this was so terrible but it was an inconvenience and we were quite tired when we arrived. For the return to the airport a week later, the driver arrived at the hotel as scheduled. However, he was a smoker and inside of the Taxi smelled terrible. Worse yet, he drove 145 km/h to the airport. It was very frightening. At times he drove this speed while extremely close to the car in front of us. I did not feel at all safe. Upon arrival at the airport he refused to allow me to pay by credit card. At the hotel I was told I could pay by credit card. He insisted I go inside to the bank machine and get Euros for him. I was very unhappy about this. I don’t know if you would be able to determine which driver this was but I highly recommend that you do not use him again for this service. I received this taxi between 615 and 630 on Sunday morning 17 June. Again, I want to say that everything else was absolutely wonderful my granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. All of the staff were very dear to my little granddaughter making this day special sweet for her. Merci beaucoup!

We had an amazing 4-night stay at Hotel Recamier! The location of the hotel is fantastic and it is just a very quaint and well kept hotel. The staff is super friendly. The only negative is the size of the room is tiny. The door opens right to the foot of the bed and not much room to walk around. Luckily there is a patio next to the breakfast room in the lobby so you can lounge there. Otherwise it was great!

Very nice small hotel in place St Sulpice; very nice staff, room was very nicely furnished with a nice bathroom. Afternoon tea is nice!

First stay here and it exceeded expectations. Chose a large room on the top floor and it was definitely worth the extra cost. Dramatic setting on the Place St. Sulplice.

I loved Hotel Recamier. The staff was excellent and the hotel was gorgeous. My only complaint is that the shower in the bathroom sprayed into the bathroom itself. Perhaps a new shower head or the addition of a shower curtain would have solved this problem. Overall, the bathroom was lovely despite this annoyance. I will absolutely stay at Hotel Recamier the next time I come to Paris.

I understand that hotel rooms in Paris are tiny; I've stayed in hotels there many times, and sometimes had to climb across the bed to get to the bathroom. The club room at Hotel Recamier, advertised as the largest available, still was very small for the price. Comfortable, yes, but far from spacious. The modern arty photos in my room were not to my taste, but not offensive, just blah. The air conditioning worked well, thankfully, as it was hot and humid outside, and the bed was very comfortable. There were several minor bathroom issues, however. The shower head in my room (22) was not adjustable by guests, and had a force that felt like needles (the hotel fixed it). The tub did not drain well even with the drain fully open; water accumulated above ankle level (I reported to hotel staff that it needed to be cleaned in the near future). Water dripped onto the counter behind the faucets every time the sink faucets were turned on. Minor maintenance but necessary for a five-star hotel. The staff would have no way of knowing if guests did not report it, I understand. The breakfast at 22 euros was greatly overpriced for what was offered. There was no sign or indication that eggs were available on request; we figured that out only by seeing other guests eat them. Croissants and pastries, coffee, limited selection of breakfast meats, yogurt, juice, and cheese basically are a continental breakfast, and should not cost what they did. I know that that's pretty much the going rate at upscale hotels, but still. I also was a bit disappointed to be on the second floor with very little view of St. Suplice square; a view was advertised. I should have requested a higher floor. That was my fault, not the hotel's. All that said, the staff was exceptional: they were friendly, knowledgable, responsive, and efficient. The location was excellent as well. Access to Metro stops, good restaurants, and shopping were steps away. I felt completely safe in the neighborhood, though it was a bit disconcerting to see people sleeping for the night on benches just outside the hotel. There are many hotel choices in Paris, and I've stayed in places near Hotel Recamier for less money and with much more space, so it's unlikely I'll be returning.
